Hambro Structural Floor Joists are proud to have been utilized on Arbour Square at Plymouth Meeting senior living facilities in Plymouth Meeting, PA. This new 4-story, approximately 185,000-square-foot building features non-combustible Hambro Composite Floor Joists bearing on steel stud bearing walls.

Hambro Structural Floors will be utilized on the new Lake Anne Fellowship House Apartments located in Reston, VA which offers 240-units of affordable senior living. Hambro Joists bearing on prefabricated steel stud wall panels offers a faster construction schedule at a lesser cost than other floor systems. Hambro is a non-combustible and lightweight structural combination, which offered a cost effective option over poured in place. At 7-stories, wood frame as a construction method couldn’t accommodate the project height. The lightweight structural combination of Hambro and 3” slabs helped to reduce the transfer deck and foundation requirements. Swirnow Structures was involved in the project very early on and collaborated with the design team to provide longer joist spans given Hambro’s composite action, making for an efficient framing layout.

38 Walnut Street is a new 3-story apartment building being constructed in Lancaster, PA. Hambro joists bearing on wood frame were designed into the project, and Swirnow Structures was involved early on in the design stages to support a smooth bidding process. Swirnow Structures was also able to quickly assist the general contractor and design team with modifications in the field to ensure project success and schedule. Hambro joists are exposed on the interior of the building and painted with intumescent paint to give an industrial aesthetic.

Hambro Composite Floor Joists will be featured on two new University of Maryland residence halls in College Park, MD. The strip and go Hambro forming system bearing on fully sheathed prefabricated metal stud wall panels allowed for a faster construction schedule, able to accommodate the University’s rigorous deadlines. Hambro provides these two dormitory buildings with a quality noncombustible structure at an affordable price. The Swirnow Structures team collaborated with the design team to ensure that this building gained all the cost saving benefits available with the Hambro system.

Horizon at Ridge Hill is a luxury apartment being built in Yonkers, NY with 130,238-square-feet of Hambro area. This new building utilizes 10-stories of Hambro bearing on structural steel frame over 4-levels of parking and amenity space. Swirnow Structures provided diligent and involved service, with our production department working closely with the GC and structural engineer.
