University of Maryland – New Residence Hall & Dining Facility

As part of UMD’s 15-year On-Campus Housing Strategic plan, they are building a new residence hall and dining facility. Both of these buildings will utilize Hambro Structural Floor Joists bearing on steel studs. The new dining hall, replacing an outdated 1974 facility, will contain 1,055-seats, and is designed for LEED Silver certification. The new 7-story dorm will be constructed on the site of old athletic fields, and is designed to maximize natural light and create an engaging housing experience for undergraduates.
